He began his career in 1969 with the Mobil Group, where he held a number of executive positions in Italy and abroad, including a period as Chief Financial Officer for Europe. In 1991 he became Head of Administration, Finance and Control for Europe at the American company Campbell, based in London and Bruxelles. From the end of 1991 to 1993 he was head of the accounting, finance, and control department of Montecatini and was subsequently in charge of finance at Montedison-Compart, overseeing the financial restructuring of the group. After that, he joined Telecom Italia as General Manager and Chief Financial Officer and, between 1996 and 1998, was General Manager and Chief Financial Officer of Ferrovie dello Stato, the Italian national railway. In 1999, he joined Enel Spa as Chief Financial Officer. Current position
